The Whitewash Technique is so simple, yet it makes such a statement on cards. This card was super quick to put together, and I am totally pleased with the end result.
The card base and card front are both Crumb Cake, which is a great background for the technique, although it looks great with lots of colors! I stamped the image from Beautiful Moments with Versamark ink and heat embossed it using Black Embossing Powder. The rest is whitewashed.
Both of the dresses, were whitewashed using Craft Ink Refill and an aqua painter. I also brushed some of it along the bottom of the image, so they didn’t appear to be floating.
The edges of the card front were distressed using Tim Holtz’ distress tool, but the same look can be achieved using a pair or scissors. I added faux stitching around the card front using a Chalk Marker.
The inside sentiment and image were stamped in Memento Black. Both are from the same stamp set, Beautiful Moments.
