The Floating Strips technique is pretty cool — the strips really look like they’r floating!
For this card, I used the 2020-2022 In Color collection. The circle is made with strips of paper, mounted onto window sheet and raised using Foam Strips. The effect is pretty awesome!
There’s a video at the end of this post with step-by-step instructions.
The card base is Bumblebee, with a Basic Black mat topped with. Basic White card front.
To make the floating piece, I placed strips of cardstock over a window sheet with a little space of window sheet showing. I then die cut it all out using the Layering Circles dies and raised them with Foam Strips. The butterfly was die cut from Basic Black card stock and a die from the Brilliant Wings set.
The outside sentiment was stamped in Bumblebee and is from the Pansy Patch set.
I wanted to use all the colors from the In Color collections, but I didn’t have any Cinnamon Cider card stock to incorporate into the card. I brought that color in by using the Cinnamon Cider ribbon.
The inside of the card has a sentiment from the Pansy Patch set, stamped inked in Bumblebee.
