Crisp, Modern Valetine’s Day Card

This is one of my favorite Valentine’s Day cards.  I think it’s because of the modern look — the color combination is crisp with the shades of gray, white and a touch of red.

I am a fan of the traditional reds and pinks for Valentine’s Day, and I was surprised I strayed from my “norm”, but I’m really glad that I did!

The heart is die cut from Real Red card stock using the delicate heart die in the Be Mine stitched dies.

The sentiment was heat embossed using Versamark and White Embossing Powder.

The top half of the card was delicately dry embossed using the Subtle embossing folder and also trimmed with the scalloped edge from the Be Mine Stitched Die set.  The shimmery ribbon is a  Basic Gray ribbon.

When I placed the heart on the card, I decided to have the ribbon be visible behind it.  I liked that look.
