Birch Background Sympathy Card

Although I made this card as a sympathy card, it’s perfect when you need a masculine card.  The neutral tones and the birch stamp lend themselves perfectly for a masculine card.  With a simple change of the sentiment it can be a Father’s Day card, a birthday card, a get well and, or a thinking of you/support card.

The card base is Crumb Cake; the mat piece (which I also used to die cut the sentiment mat — see video for details) is Early Espresso; and the card front is Very Vanilla.  The background stamp is the beautiful Birch stamp.

The sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso and is from the Positive Thoughts stamp set. It was die cut using the Layering Circles dies set.  The mat is die cut in Early Espresso and is from the Tasteful Labels die set.  It is raised from the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added a knot made with the retired Early Espresso Seam Binding, but that could very easily be switched out with some linen thread, or ribbon in Early Espresso or Crumb Cake in another style.

The inside sentiment is from the Art Gallery and is stamped using Early Espresso ink.
